Abstract: Sports are decisive activities in augmenting our health and contribute significantly to reducing morbidities and mortalities, especially in overcoming the present day public health concerns. It is either the field/gym or the chemist for all internal and external body parts, organs, tissues and cells to function properly as they are supposed to function. Better be an enthusiast of the former than the latter. The future of sports science depends on collaboration among researchers, athletes, and practitioners. Researchers can utilize technology to develop effective training programs, while athletes receive personalized feedback, and practitioners improve safety in their methodologies. This teamwork will unlock the full potential of sports science, enabling athletes to surpass their limits. As technology advances, we can expect innovations such as AI-powered training assistants, personalized nutrition plans, and virtual reality simulations. These advancements will not only strengthen and accelerate athletic performance but also enhance athletes' understanding of their bodies and minds. This will foster a healthier, performance-driven sports environment that captivates audiences for years to come. This study was conducted through a systematic review of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) to pinpoint the significance of sports science. From biomechanics to Artificial Intelligence (AI) advances, sports science combines these components to help athletes enhance their performance and longevity in their sports. In conclusion, sports science is essential for enhancing athletic performance, preventing injuries and promoting our well-being.

Abstract: The transition from competitive sports to mainstream employment presents significant challenges for athletes in India, particularly those who discontinue formal education early. While elite athletes who achieve national and international recognition may secure financial stability through sponsorships, government support, or coaching roles, the vast majority struggle to find viable career paths once their playing years end. The absence of structured career guidance, coupled with a traditional emphasis on performance over holistic development, leaves many athletes without the necessary skills to navigate life beyond sports. This study examines the critical role of coaches in influencing athletes’ educational and skill development decisions. Through interactions with 35 athletes who had ceased formal education after class 12th, we identified recurring themes of low motivation, lack of awareness about career options, and the absence of structured mentorship. Most athletes believed that sporting talent alone would secure their future, while others were unaware of the relevance of skill development programs such as English communication, MS Office proficiency, or vocational training. Recognizing the trust and influence that coaches wield; we implemented a targeted intervention involving six coaches. These coaches were educated on the importance of athlete employability, skill-building, and career preparedness beyond sports. They, in turn, engaged with their athletes, emphasizing the value of education and employable skill sets. The results were significant—14 out of the 35 athletes reconsidered their stance and agreed to pursue skill development opportunities. These findings highlight the untapped potential of coaches as career mentors and the pressing need for structured mentorship programs within India’s sports ecosystem. If sports federations, associations, and policymakers formalize career guidance mechanisms within training programs, the long-term employability of athletes can be significantly improved. This study advocates for the integration of career mentorship into coaching certification programs, collaborations between sports institutions and educational bodies, and policy-level interventions to ensure that every athlete is equipped not just to compete but to thrive beyond their sporting career.

Abstract: Assessment is a crucial component of effective Physical Education (PE) instruction, providing valuable insights into students' learning and progress. However, limited studies have examined the influence of PE teachers' teaching experience and their knowledge of assessment strategies in Ghana. This study investigated the relationship between PE teachers' years of teaching experience and their proficiency in assessment strategies while also identifying differences in assessment strategies based on the educational level of PE teachers in Senior High Schools in the Central Region. Employing an explanatory sequential mixed-method design, the study collected both quantitative data from 175 teachers through a questionnaire and qualitative data from 10 teachers using an interview guide. Quantitative findings, analyzed using one-way ANOVA, revealed no statistically significant correlation between PE teachers' years of experience and their proficiency in understanding assessment strategies. Similarly, no significant differences in assessment strategies were found based on teachers' educational levels. However, qualitative analysis identified four key themes: the impact of teaching experience on the use of assessment strategies, quality and diversity of experience, fatigue and motivation in experienced teachers, and continuous learning and adaptation. These findings provide valuable insights into the influence of PE teachers' years of experience on their assessment knowledge, emphasizing the need for the Ghana Education Service (GES) to invest in professional development programs. Such initiatives would enhance assessment proficiency and foster a collaborative learning environment that transcends traditional experience-based hierarchies.

Abstract: Background: Physical activity has a significant effect on older adults, especially on enhancing their quality of life and well-being. More than physical activity, dance integrates music, sensory engagement, emotional expression and social connection, creating a multidimensional environment for aging population. Objective: This study explored whether dance activity habits can acutely improve physical and mental health of middle-aged and older women. A total of 143 healthy middle-aged and elderly women (50-80 years) participated in this study. Network survey of QoL was conducted. QoL of subjects was measured by using the MOS SF-36. All data were analyzed by using the SPSS 26.0 software system. Main ideas: The control group showed significant lower scores in role-physical (64.0±43.1VS.85.6±30.4, p < 0.01), general health (61.2±17.2VS.72.7±18.4, p < 0.01), vitality (72.9±15.7VS.79.1±15.0, p < 0.05) and Physical Component Summary (49.78±0.89 VS.50.23±0.87, p < 0.01) than the dance group. The low-level dance group showed significant lower scores in physical functioning (76.0±21.8VS.88.8±12.7, p < 0.01), role-physical (72.4±39.7VS.94.6±17.1, p < 0.01), role-emotional (72.4±39.7VS.94.6±17.1, p < 0.01) and Physical Component Summary (49.8±0.96VS.50.5±0.69, p < 0.01) than the high-level dance group. Conclusion: These findings highlight the benefits of maintaining dance activity for improving physical and mental health related QoL, especially for physical health. Based on findings of the present study, we recommend that middle-aged and older people could have a regular dance activity at least 150 mins per week to improve their health-related quality of life.

Abstract: Integration of physical activity into daily life is crucial for overall well-being, with workplaces, transportation, home environments, and recreational pursuits serving as key domains. The assessment of physical activity practices for lifelong living has garnered considerable attention across the globe, however, limited studies have examined teachers’ PA practices for lifelong living especially those at the senior high school level. This study, therefore employed a descriptive survey strategy to investigate senior high school teachers’ physical activity practices for lifelong living. A multistage sampling technique was used to sample 278 participants who responded to a questionnaire. The quantitative data obtained was analysed using descriptive statistics (such as frequency and percentages) and an independent sample t-test. The findings of the study revealed, teachers that 65.5% of teachers possess a low level of knowledge regarding physical activity practices for lifelong living. Additionally, the study revealed that a staggering 73.7% of the teachers fell into the category of having a low level of physical activity. Subsequently, the study showed female teachers exhibit a relatively higher level of involvement in physical activities compared to their male counterparts with the statistically significant distinction between male and female, favouring the latter t (236.452) = -2.304, p < .05. The study recommended that health awareness education should be prioritised as a crucial strategy to increase teachers' participation in physical activity. Furthermore, fostering community and social support was identified as vital for encouraging and positively impacting teachers' engagement in physical activity.
